In life we
never know what may ‘pop up.’ The above cartoon is humorous, but life does
throw us some very rough things. But, our dear Heavenly Father says:
“Do not be afraid of sudden fear nor of the
onslaught of the wicked when it comes, for the Lord will be your confidence and
will keep your foot from being caught.” – Proverbs 3:25,26
THE MESSAGE
paraphrase puts it this way: “No need to
panic over alarms or surprises, or predictions that doomsday’s just around the
corner, because God will be right there with you; He’ll keep you safe and
sound.”
Our world is
undeniably dangerous whether it be disease, accident, gun violence, job loss,
economic downturn, moral decay, war, political corruption and ineptness, or
whatever. But our dear Heavenly Father wants us to know He will be with us,
like a rock, and will keep us no matter what. Isn’t this enough? So, whatever
may ‘pop up’ today (“sudden fear”) do not let yourself fearfully anticipate it!
This old
song says it perfectly:
“God is
still on the Throne,
And He will
remember His own,
Though
trials may press us
And burdens
distress us,
He never
will leave us alone.
