DEATH IS THE GREATEST CERTAINTY OF LIFE!

The mass of humanity to a great extent lives in a state of denial when it comes to the subject of DEATH. We'd rather not 'go there.' But someone remarked, "Death is the greatest fact of life." We are not here to stay; we are here to go. All the world is a hospital and every person in it a terminal patient. Even reading these words, many are squirming in uneasiness. They'd rather not think these thoughts. And, the fact is, even the Christian, though delivered from the sting of death, is not delivered from its stroke, as Matthew Henry said. And so, like a huge phantom, is towers just ahead of us.

The Word of God declares that "he who has the Son  (Jesus Christ) has life." Why is this so? Because Jesus died for our sins (paid the required price for them), bore our sin and shame, but arose from the dead! He is the defeater of man's great enemy. And so the Christian sings, "Death could not keep it's prey, Jesus my Savior;  He tore the bars away, Jesus my Lord."

Put these two Scriptures together: First, Romans 3:23 states that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Then, a few chapters further: "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23). In other words, someone suffered my death for me. He took the wrath of God in my place. If I believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior, my sins are forgiven and I am forever set free. This is why Jesus assuredly and powerfully said, when at the graveside of a friend and just before raising him from the dead, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die" (John 11:25-26).

Dear friend, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved.....saved from sin, death and hell. Do it now! Pray and tell God you accept his Son as your very own.

Someone once remarked, "There is nothing more certain than death, nothing more uncertain than the time of dying. I will therefore be prepared at all times for that which may come at any time." Are YOU?
